I’m Writing a Book–For Real This Time

by Kaneisha on March 23, 2011

For the last month, I’ve been hinting around about how I need to make some drastic changes in my life so that I can truly pursue writing and on-air hosting. Although all my plans are not 100% settled, I feel ready to share my plans with my nation of crazy girls. First, I’ll tell you [...]

3 Signs You’re Headed for a Spiritual Tsunami

by Kaneisha on March 14, 2011

Spiritual tsunamis occur when two elements in your life are at odds with one another and are causing friction in your consciousness. Post image for Why NOT You?

All too often, when we encounter a story of someone who has “made it,” whether it is a person who has achieved something similar to our career dreams, someone who found and married her perfect partner, or even just someone who won an award (that you didn’t even apply for), our first reaction is to dismiss any possibility of such a lovely thing happening in our own life.

As much as I love a self-help/new age book as much as the next dreadlocked self-employed aspiring celebrity in LA, I don’t consider myself to be a very superstitious person. However, for the last month, I have experienced something that I can only describe as bad juju. (For those of you wondering what the heck [...]

Stop Depriving Yourself

by Kaneisha on November 13, 2010

Many of us deprive ourselves of the very things that could bring us the most happiness in our lives. It’s almost as if we believe there is a limited quantity of goodness available to us and we don’t want to use it up for fear that one day our goodness gas tank will sink to E, leaving us stranded in the middle of Miseryland.

I’ll Say It . . . I’m Bougie!

by Kaneisha on October 19, 2010

My transformation into a bougie traveler helps me realize that no matter how much I shop at the store, I am not forever 21. The things that used to matter to me while traveling (spend as little money as possible and see as much as I can) are no longer as important.
