My Birthday List

by Kaneisha on November 4, 2009

I inherited a love for making lists from my father, who litters our family’s house with lists wherever he goes. He has lists for his daily tasks, gifts he plans to buy, computer maintenance issues, you name it. I’m also a big list-maker, and I want to take my birthday to make a list of my goals over the next year.

  1. I will spend less time worrying and more time laughing. I spend a lot of time laughing as it is already but I also spend a LOT of time worrying. I inherited the worry bug from my paternal grandma, who worries like none other. I work myself up into a panic on a daily basis worrying about one thing or the other. It’s just not a way to live—and doesn’t accomplish anything. So less worrying and more laughing!
  2. I will exercise more often. You know something’s wrong when you feel great after running to class and think, “Hey, I should do that more often!” We Crazy Girls have to take care of our mind, body, and spirit. I do a pretty good job taking care of my mind, but my spirit is laden with worry and doubt, and my body is laden with fatty food and sluggishness. Time to get moving so I can run that much more quickly toward my dreams!
  3. I will say NO more often. I thought I was doing a better job of not signing up for things that I don’t want or have the time to do, but the last two weeks have shown me that I’ve still got a long way to go to saying no enough. No, I will not plan or coordinate events. No, I will not edit your essay for free. No, I will not set up your blog for you. No offense. I still love you. I’m just saying no. *Sigh of relief*
  4. I will keep my living environment clean and beautiful. My room is a mess. ENFPs do not like to waste time on mundane things like cleaning, paying bills, etc. However, I always feel SO HAPPY when I come home to a clean, beautiful house. My apartment has a stack of empty picture frames and blank walls with nails in them, because I never take the time to actually hang up pictures! I am the complete opposite of my mother who takes great pride in decorating and re-decorating our house. But I’m tired of feeling like I live in a prison cell. It’s time to beautify my surroundings, one blank wall and pile of papers at a time.
  5. I will continue to buy the beautiful. I’ve been getting better at buying things that I’m actually delighted and inspired to use. I didn’t like the blender I had, so I went to Target and bought the $40 one in red with 14 settings that obliterates anything you put into it. I’ve never been happier making smoothies. My toaster is getting replaced next, and soon I’m buying some fantastic brown boots, two pairs of skinny jeans, and a new super-duper vibrator. Yeah, I said it. It’s time for a new one.
  6. I will treat my online entrepreneurship like a job and not like a hobby. I want to work for myself and be rich, happy, and hot. I must begin to work more efficiently and effectively on my blog as well as my soon-to-be-launched coaching business.

That’s all for now. Happy birthday to me!

As an ENFP, my home is often messy and just a bit too cluttery, too, and even though a clean apt makes me so happy, I just can’t bring myself to keep it that way!

I went to Marie Forleo’s website and I love it! I can’t wait to try out her dance work out video (what doesn’t this woman do?), I watched a clip and it looks really fun!

Yes, Marie Forleo is really amazing! I look forward to meeting her and working with her one day! And then being just like her with you!
