I finally buckled down and designed a prettier and cleaner site. Here’s a list of some of the new changes:
- A pretty banner! I think every site needs something eye-catching to draw the reader in. I’m going to try to change the banner monthly like Dooce. We’ll see if I can keep it up!
- The teasers are back! I know that people really missed the magazine style layout of the old site, so I brought it back! I’m still having trouble getting the thumbnails to work perfectly but I will fix it as soon as possible.
- Hello, Facebook! I’ve created a Facebook fan page and a fan box in the sidebar so we can have our own Crazy Community on Facebook. Make sure you become a fan!
- Sponsors. Now that traffic is steady, I want to experiment with advertising and sponsors. I think that with the right ads, I can get sponsors who can introduce my CrazyGirls to some relevant and interesting products through their ads. If you know of a business–small or large–that would make a great sponsor, email me at Kaneisha@gmail.com!
Please feel free to leave suggestions on how to make the site better!

love the font, love the banner, love it all! I think this format suits you best of all of the layouts I have seen. Good work!
Thanks, Leah! You’ve been reading since the beginning, so you’ve been there for all the changes–good and bad! So it means a lot to me that you like it!
Oooooo! your new site is so pretty!
I know every time I comment I do this, but I just heard a thing on NPR about how Web site design can influence how much a person shares on said Web site. They “found that subjects are more likely to admit to, say, cheating on their girlfriend or something, when the questions are on this cheesy, fun-looking Web site. But a more formal-looking Web site asking the same questions gets a lot more caution and a lot more self-censorship.” So according to NPR, you are maximizing your information collection abilities by designing your website to look the way you have! I know that is not the reason for the change, but I thought you might think that was interesting none the less. Hooray for Kaneisha!
