One Contest and Two Chances to Win

by Kaneisha on September 25, 2009

This is my very first contest on CrazyGirl Nation–and I am so excited!!!

As traffic has begun to pick up on CrazyGirl Nation (over 1800 unique visitors the last 30 days!), I want to make sure to grab new visitors’ attention and keep the attention of all you loyal readers!

Therefore, I’m going to run a contest so that my CrazyGirl Nation can help me find the very cutest blog template/theme out there.

A blog theme is like the outfit the blog wears. I’ve already got a bangin’ body (all the great posts on here), but I’m in serious need of a makeover. Developers create free and paid themes/templates that people can download and use to re-skin their sites. So I’m running this contest hoping my awesome readers can help me find a fabulous theme for CrazyGirl Nation.

The Rules:

1. In order to submit a potential template, just leave a link to the template as a comment on this post.

2. Leave as many links to templates as you like in one comment. Each suggested template counts as one entry.

3. I may or may not have the CrazyGirl community vote on which one will win (might want to keep it as a surprise).

4. Suggested templates can be free or ones that I have to pay for.

5. Templates should be for use in WordPress.

6. Only entries submitted as comments to this post will be counted–so don’t leave comments on Facebook or email them to me directly!

Tip: Here are some websites that I think are absolutely lovely so you can have an idea of my tastes. (Believe me, it is not the austere newspaper look of this blog)

The person whose template I choose will win a $25 Visa gift card. I’ll create an Excel random number generator (because I’m a nerd) to select a second $25 Visa card winner from all the entries–which is why you should leave LOTS of suggestions!

The contest starts RIGHT NOW and ends Monday October 12. But don’t make me stick to that! If I find one I absolutely LOVE and can’t live without, I’ll end it earlier.

One thing you CAN count on is how happy I will be to give CrazyGirl Nation the makeover it deserves and I’ll be more than happy to send you that $25 gift card!

There are a bajillion site with WordPress blog templates. I seem to lean more towards the paid ones (of course, me with my expensive taste…)

Let the suggestions roll in!

Yes, I’m leaving the first comment. Wouldn’t these make AWESOME banners for the site?! http://noobr.net/2009/01/5-feminine-vector-patterns-for-designers/

you know, laura roeder has a web design service that i think is getting pretty legitimate, maybe she could help you design and market yourself into the internet Dear Abby! her site doesn’t look like what you are looking for, but maybe she could customize it to your standards.

i found this blog designer who seems to have cool ideas and a fairly reasonable price range (100 for a simple blog- 275 for a ultra delux fancy one, ok, so maybe i don’t really know what is reasonable and what is not) if you want to pay for a site:

it turns out finding blog templates is not that easy of a task! no wonder you left it up to your crazy girls…

i’m still looking tho! i WANT THAT $25 CARD!

Hey Suz! Thanks for your suggestion! Laura has actually moved on from web design to being a great business coach! We’re in touch all the time, and I’m learning a lot from her about how to get my “work for myself” dreams accomplished. She’ll be happy to know that you’re out there rooting for her!

Hey Suz! Thanks so much for your entry! This actually doesn’t work for me, because she makes Blogger templates, and I use Wordpress. This contest was obviously way too onerous for my readers to be bothered with. I think I’ll just go ahead and pick one. You definitely earned the $25 gift card though! (Considering you were the only entrant!)
