good response to an otherwise obvious question. i love the “Maybe I should be more patient with you. Maybe you live in a place like Antarctica where there are no Black people.” you know i was deprived of having african – american friends until i lived a year in ghana. i learned so much from those girls and we share such special memories, it makes me sad to think that i live in such a homogenously white community. not antarctica, though

Well said! I’m so glad that your blog covers such diverse topics. It’s nice to read about a (REALLY) cute leather jacket one day, dating the next, and then racial bias/ignorance another day. Keep up the good work!

I wrote a piece about how I want to approach life with more of an open heart and open mind after realizing how I could have missed out on delicious, wonderful Mr. C if I had not been open to dating a non-Black guy. So I guess that’s one data point of Black open-mindedness for the searcher.
